Some salt based scrubs, while great for your body, can sometimes become a bit abrasive when used on something as delicate as your lips. Our lips are not made for anything rough. And to keep them silky, all we need is a bit of gentle exfoliation, some re-hydration and they’re good to go.
This Easy DIY Lip Scrub is sugar based and even then, the oil helps break the sugar down as you are applying it. It’s gentle on the lips, but will also help remove any excessive peeling. Following it up with a hydrating lip chap is the perfect combo to combat the winter elements.
This DIY lip scrub uses both real cinnamon and vanilla extract. Which means that this lip scrub smells exactly like brown sugar cookies! While you can easily use essential oils (I’d only do 1-3 drops of each), I always prefer to use the actual product.
While many of us take great care of our skin, we do tend to forget about our lips. But using this DIY lip scrub is super simple and won’t even require a shower afterwards!
I like to whip up a half jar and keep it on my bathroom counter so I can exfoliate them every other night or so.
Simple rub the mixture onto your lips, wait 1-2 minutes (for the oil to sink in) and then rub again to exfoliate. Rinse the scrub off, hydrate your lips and you’re done!
This DIY scrub recipe makes one small jar worth. So long as you don’t get water into the jar (water causes mold) it should last a couple of weeks (though I use mine far more frequently so I haven’t tested the duration). The oil will separate slightly from the sugar so give it a tiny mix with your finger before applying.
Keep your lips silky smooth through the winter with this easy DIY lip scrub. Simple to make and even easier to use – this scrub is a bathroom counter staple 😉
